Lagonda

Lagonda, a name synonymous with British luxury and a turbulent history, produced some of the most distinctive and often eccentric automobiles of the pre- and post-war eras. Founded in 1906, the brand initially found success in racing, culminating in a Le Mans victory in 1935. Acquired by David Brown in 1947, the same year he purchased Aston Martin, Lagonda became a sister marque, sharing engineering and resources.

The marque's post-war output, particularly the elegant Rapide and the wedge-shaped Series 4, showcased innovative design and advanced technology. However, financial constraints and fluctuating ownership plagued Lagonda. While the brand produced striking vehicles, its production numbers remained low, and its future was often uncertain. Lagonda's legacy is one of ambition, innovation, and ultimately, a struggle to find consistent success.
